- Cut off the lower legs of a pair of pantyhose.
- Spanx or other similar shapewear.
- Lightweight cycling or other small, thin, stretchy shorts. Men's boxer briefs are good, too.
- BodyGlide (or deodorant sometimes helps) applied to the area.
- Baby powder, talcum powder, or corn starch applied to the area (tends to need re-applied over time).
- Monistat Soothing Care anti-chafing powder-gel.

I use Lush Buffy Bar when I get a shower it leaves a film of soft oil on the skin. I also carry with me cocoa butter incase it get dry.
ReplyDeletei also use LUSH, but their silky underwear dusting powder. it also smells heavenly.

ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of bike shorts, but recently I've been using lanacane's anti-chafe gel. I bought my first tube online, and then two more when I was visiting the states at a walgreens there. I was nervous to try it in case it didn't work, so I packed my trusty bike shorts as well. It worked pretty well, but I think on a hotter day, I would need to reapply or just go with shorts (make sure you spray them with anti-static cling stuff, or they'll stick to the dress your wearing and make an un-pretty line.
ReplyDeleteIn Australia, we have a thing called "3B Action Cream" which is a no-chafe lotion. I found it when I was surfing actually (because your stomach gets mega-chafed smacking down on a board ever 2 minutes). I can apply it, go to work and then to a 6 hour gig and it stays on. It's also fairly soothing for already sore skin. I'm not sure where else it's available besides Aus and NZ.
ReplyDeleteI've honestly found that a little vaseline works great!

Fortunately(?), I rarely have that problem anymore as I don't get to exercise much due to terrible knees (to the extent I'm on disability). However, and I'm not sure how to describe this properly, what can one do to prevent the excess of sweat and almost slime that you get under the belly? Y'all know what I mean, right? Or do I have issues??? LOL.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I feel that there is no need to spend extra money on toiletries you don't need. Got stick or spray deodorant (not sure how well gel and roll on work for this, strongly suggest dry or powder sticks)? Rub the stick between your thighs, anywhere your thighs even have a remote chance of touching, and not only have you efficiently sourced an item that you already own and will continue to own, but your thighs will smell good too :D Same for spray deodorant; just spray it on the same areas. To Kake Dastardly, the spray deodorant works wonders on any problem areas that get sweaty (like between rolls, elbow pits or knee pits, feet, anything). Not many spray deodorants come in nice smells, but the brand Sure offers a very nice, reliable nonscented aerosol can that works wonders on chaffing and body sweat. Not only do the both of these solutions work above and beyond and save money, but you avoid the sliminess of any topical cream or even Vaseline. You stay cool, dry, and fresh. Please take my advice girls and SAVE YO MONEY AND YO STINGIN THIGHS hunty. <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI second the above; an unscented spray deodorant helps me mucho.
ReplyDeleteI also use this (www.antimonkeybutt.com/), on high-movement/heat days. Ignore the silly name, it is MAGICAL.
